Doesn’t Showing Hidden Files And Folder


The hidden files and folders in Windows Explorer may not be displayed even though you enable the Show hidden files and folder option in the Folder Options. The files and folders can be viewed when using search, or using the DIR /A command from the Command Prompt window.

Also, when you go to open the Folder Options and click the View tab, both the radio buttons Do not show hidden files and folders and Show hidden files and folders may be enabled.      When you check the show hidden file option it will automatically uncheck after applying.

The above symptoms occur if the system is infected by Malware, which modifies the CheckedValue registry value in these branches.

Go to start menu in run type regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced \ Folder \ Hidden \ SHOWALL

To show hidden file follow the above step  and change the data value of in right open menu –..> double click on checked value and change the value data zero(0) with one(1) base hexadecimal click on ok and close the registry window.

Now you will be able to see the hidden files and folder ………
