Microsoft has released the Windows 8 Preview for its user ahead of the final release of the much anticipated Windows operating system. Windows 8 Preview will be available for free to test, remember this is not the final product and final version of Windows 8 can be a bit different from this.

Windows 8 is having the biggest changes in design and feature, this is going to be the biggest makeover of the Windows OS yet. The software displays applications in a mosaic of tiles and has been designed so it can run desktop, laptop and tablet computers.

Windows 8 is also the company’s one more step toward making the Windows PC close to a touch-enabled system and making Windows a touchscreen-friendly operating system.

The latest test version of Windows 8 is available in 14 languages and includes several improvements from a less-refined version released three months ago. The upgrades include more ways to connect to other Microsoft services, more security controls, and more touch-screen features.

The company has not announced the exact date or the timeline about the Windows 8 release date in India and globally but as per the news, rumors, and leaks the new Windows OS will go on sale from September last week or by the first week of October.

Microsoft is trying to discourage procrastination with a special promotion that begins Saturday in the US, Canada, and more than 120 other markets. The program allows buyers of a computer running on Windows 7 to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro, when it’s available, for $14.99. However, Microsoft has not announced or said anything about the final price of the Windows 8 operating system.
