It’s been a long wait for Android Lollipop on the Moto X, and fans have been getting desperate. But the end is clearly in sight, and Moto X owners are finally getting Android 5.1 update.
The update is rolling out over-the-air to devices, So go to your Moto X’s About section and find the Check for updates option and tap it. After that, you should see a notification like the one in the image below. The update requires around 200 to 400 MB of free space on your phone.
After applying for the new release, you’ll be on software version 222.21.15 Aside from the bump in Android iteration, this will also bring you updates to Motorola Assist and Migrate, NFC, and enhancements to Active notifications, SmartBoost, MotoCare, as well as other fixes. If you aren’t seeing 5.1 updates for your Moto X, Install Motorola Update Services from play store and then check for update.
You can also try force update this trick may not work always but you can try if you are still waiting for the update.
Turn On flight mode then Go to setting >>> apps >>> All >>> Find and open “Google Service Framework” >>> Disable this service >>> clear cache and data >>> Turn Off the flight mode >>> reboot your device. Remember resetting “Google Service Framework” will reset your app preferences like default apps to open files.
